Into this place a couple times. Love the atmosphere and the staff is always friendly. Food is great and the outdoor patio is very nice during the day.

The Red Lion Tavern has been around for some time. We love it and go whenever we are near there. The place is older and it shows, but it is always super clean and just ever so friendly. Some go there just to have their beer. They have a great selection. They also have a full bar. We go there for the food. They have great German food. They also have burgers if you want, but their German food is just great and the best around there. The place is comfortable and the seating is super. It does not often get packed. You can dine in, take away or have it delivered. We love to dine there. The service is just so nice that you want to be there. Their Beerstein Soup is so good if you just want soup and some bread. It is also a great starter. It is split pea soup with a wiener and a great roll. Speaking of soup, you must try their Vegetarian Goulash which has vegetarian sausage, potatoes and vegetables in tomato-based sauce. Their main courses are great. Try their Schweinebraten Tender, which is great roasted pork loin smothered in gravy sauce. Served with red cabbage and mashed potatoes and it is filling so share. It is the best. There are no bad dishes there. Have a great time.

We truly love coming here. We came with friends tonight and everyone enjoyed their dinners. My wife ordered the Weinerscnitzel and I ordered the Jaegaerschnitzel. Our friends ordered the bratwurst. The food is excellent and the service is great.

We love Silvia! Stayed way longer than I intended to because of how great our conversations were! Amazing food and drink recs! Have been obsessed with their flammkuchen since she told me about it two years ago.

I used to come here back in the day and decided to pop in for old times' sake. Red Lion opened in 1959, and it's a cozy neighborhood tavern with a lively biergarten upstairs. There is also a secret hidden bar where you'll occasionally find guest bartenders serving up specials. I met up here with a friend to celebrate National Margarita Day. The weather was perfect for sitting outside. I only intended to have one, but my friend and I were enjoying our conversation and the gal behind the bar was delightful, so I had another. I forgot how fun this place is. It's a great spot to hang with friends, and if you are craving traditional German eats, you'll find it here. *Metered street parking

Great place to meet up with friends! The vibes are chill, and there is lots of seating. Their menu includes an excellent selection of German biers and food. I've been here about 5-6 times, each visit at varying times. The service every time has been very slow, even when they weren't busy. Pro Tip: use a groupon to get the sausage sampler and beer! it's a great deal!

Came here for a few drinks with the wife and ate a quick bite. The service was good. Prices were fair. Beer was great. Parking sucks. We did find free street parking but it was a bit down the street. The crowd was chill. The only reason I took 1 star off was because it got so stuffy and hot I felt a little noxious that I had to pay and leave quick. Maybe a little more air movement and I would return, but until then I probably won't be back.

Short: The Red Lion Tavern is a cozy spot with a nice selection of beers and traditional german dishes. Decor and atmosphere are the best! Long: I have tried Red Lion Tavern a few times now and each time I really enjoy my time here, however the food can be hit or miss. It has everything you need for a fun Tavern, great beers, a great atmosphere and plenty of seating. Food here is decent but nothing to rave about. It is tasty but sometimes lacks flavor. The best dish is the pretzel and it is something nice to snack on when having a beer. Worth a visit for the atmosphere and the great selection of beers!

A group of my friends and I wanted to find a holiday inspired spot to grab a night cap at and we were not disappointed! This staple of the Silverlake neighborhood was such a pleasure to experience for the first time. A German beer hall and tavern, the group of us sat in the middle level of the establishment. It felt intimate like we had our own private room, plus it was all decorated for Christmas. Our server Sylvia was incredibly kind and took amazing care of us (and make sure to catch her Marlena Dietrich act!). We all ordered a version of mulled wine, a hot toddy, and the Rüdensheimer Coffee, which was a whole table side experience. We also ordered off the late night food menu and got the sausage platter, potato pancakes, and pretzel. We also received a complimentary basket of sliced bread and butter. Everything was great! Will definitely come back. Street parking only.
